Gabe, we love the surf board! It's such a great, unique piece. Kelly's taking it back to B'burg until Spring, then it's going to the beach. I'm looking forward to when I have time to take classes with you. Thanks again!

Comment on PONSHOP Featured Artist Interview: Joshua Barber by John Barber

Joshua’s art has been described as whimsical, humorous, mystical and childish. It is all these and more. He lives his emotional life to the fullest and strives to share his most intimate thoughts through his artwork. Such complex and amorphous statements are difficult to translate through traditional, representational techniques. The artist has created his own “language” of figures, shapes, colors and textures with which to communicate his messages. Many of these elements are reminiscent of the famed Spanish artist Pablo Picasso who said of his own art; “It took me four years to paint like Raphael, but a lifetime to paint like a child”.

View Joshua’s art and let his soul speak to you through the portal of his creations.

John M. Barber
Fellow, American Society of Marine Artist
but more importantly Joshua’s Dad.
11/1/10
