Student Show Part 2

Here is a selection of the student work from our Second Annual Student Art Show. Thanks once again to all the students who have participated. PONSHOP offers classes in painting, mixed media, skateboard graphics, ceramics, as well as, photography and jewelry design. Click here for a current class schedule.

Fundraiser for Fredericksburg United Methodist Church Preschool

PONSHOP is holding our first fundraiser for the Fredericksburg United Methodist Church Preschool. We are donating 10% of all sales (including class and workshop fees) to the Preschool, as well as offering two 45-minute workshops for children who are 3-4 years old. Anyone can participate, even if the children do not go to the preschool and older siblings are welcome to sign up for a class too.

What: A 45-minute workshop teaching your children how to create their own ceramic mask and decorate with ceramic paints while exploring hand building techniques with ceramic artist Scarlett Suhy-Pons.

When: Saturday November 6th, two class sessions are available:
10:00am-10:45am
1:00pm-1:45pm

Cost: $12 per student

Where: PONSHOP Studio in Downtown Fredericksburg, 712 Caroline Street.

Class Limit: 6 per session

This summer we offer art workshops for both children and adults interested in painting, collage, skateboard graphics, street art, and art books. Scarlett hosts Birthday Parties that include a clay workshop as well. Our goal is to provide a place where people can be creative and have fun at the same time.

Skate To Create: May 2007
Over the course of 3 sessions, students design and paint their own skateboard deck.

Mixing The Media: May 2007

In this 2-session class, students create a mixed media piece using collage, acrylics, and markers.
Abigail's piece is inspired by her love of music, 6th Grade.

Birthday Parties with Scarlettwares
What better way to spend time with friends than by making ceramics together. Kids have a joint clay workshop and birthday party at LibertyTown Arts Workshop.

PONSHOP Private Lessons
Students are given the freedom to explore various media and ideas in their class time.

Max created a 3-piece stencil that he then used on wood as well as his gym shirt.

Intro To Street Art: Winter 2007
This 3-session workshop exposes students to the art of graffiti writing, stencil making, and spray paint.

Working in repetition and variation, these students practice lettering and freehand drawing in our studio.

Robert and Tristan are avid PONSHOP students. Their workshop focused on sharpening their spray paint skills.

Scarlettwares Website Updates

We are pleased to announce that as Scarlett's Website reaches into its third year, it has been updated and re-designed to keep up with her progressive ceramic work. New pieces at scarlettwares.com include the Wind Bowl Series, Igloo Bud Vases, and her latest achievement-Ceramic Hanging Birdhouses.
Scarlett also modified her site to include more information about the ceramic classes that she offers as well as birthday parties that she's been throwing at LibertyTown Arts Workshop. In the past months, Scarlett has been offering clay workshops for children who want to have a creative and fun way to celebrate their birthday with friends.

"Wind Bowls" by Scarlett Suhy-Pons come in three different sizes and can be viewed here.

The Lamp Tower Series combines Scarlett's study in light, clay, and architectural form.
